Lightning Wallet Field Guide
Understand custody, funding, fees and payment finality before choosing how to pay.

First: decide who controls your wallet
Custodial wallets may be simpler but involve provider dependence. Self-custodial tools give more direct control with greater responsibility for recovery, funding and security. Check jurisdiction, provider terms and fees.
Second: make sats available on Lightning
Follow the provider's official instructions. An ordinary Bitcoin exchange balance is not necessarily ready to pay a Lightning invoice.
Third: read the price quotation
The software costs £297. Once enabled, the checkout will quote a time-limited invoice in sats. Bitcoin exchange rates change and wallet/network charges may apply.
Fourth: pay only the order-specific invoice
Open secure checkout to generate the invoice. Do not send Bitcoin directly to a public Lightning address expecting instant delivery. Check the recipient and amount before authorising.
Fifth: verify before downloading
When fully activated, settlement is checked before a private download is offered. Do not disclose recovery phrases, passwords or private keys.
